Prickle Lily

Prickle Lily 1

Prickle Lily (Acanthocarpus preissii) is currently in flower in Bold Park. You’ll find it growing in many places beside the Zamia Trail. The plant looks like some garden escape grassy weed, but is actually a native plant that grows along the West Australian coast from about Exmouth to Albany. The flowering season in April-May and the flowers are quite small, so you need to look closely to see them.
