Prickly Conostylis

You will also find plenty of this plant flowering in Bold Park at present. It looks similar to the Yellow Cottonhead in the previous post, but the leaves are long, shiny and green, instead of short, dull and grey. We believe this one is Prickly Conostylis (Conostylis aculeata), which is a near relative of the Yellow Cottonhead. However there are reportedly 12 species of Conostylis in the Perth area, so we could be wrong on this one.
