Common Hovea

We also saw Common Hovea (Hovea trisperma) in flower in Kings Park last week. In our experience, it isn’t actually a very common wildflower, but it was growing in a variety of places in the undergrowth at Kings Park. Its reported flowering season is May to November, though we have only ever seen it flowering in winter. The low shrub is native to the southwest of Western Australia, and all Perthites seem to love the striking indigo colour of the petals.
