Coast Hop-bush (Dodonaea aptera) looks like it hasn’t started to flower yet. But a closer look shows that it has tiny little green flowers, as shown below. This bush grows from Shark Bay to Augusta in Western Australia, and we saw lots of it along the Cape to Cape Track in the southwest late last year.
It flowers from April to July and has distinctive winged fruit. The plant shown here is in North Fremantle, in remnant woodland beside the Swan River.
