Hackett’s Hop Bush

Hacketts Hop Bush 1

We stopped to admire the Hackett’s Hop Bush (Dodonaea hackettiana) growing in the native garden at Minim Cove recently, and have also seen it growing in King’s Park. The flowering season for this plant has now finished, but the dry fruit are very looking impressive. These colourful bugs like them too.

If you look around carefully, you may still find a few of the pinkish winged fruit that haven’t dried out yet.
