Southern Diplolaena

Southern Diplolaena 1

We were in the southwest corner of Western Australia for most of the past week, walking the Cape to Cape Track. There were plenty of colourful wildflowers along the trail, including this shrub with striking red/orange yellow flowers. It is known as Southern Diplolaena or Native Rose (Diplolaena dampieri) and can be found along the coast from about Perth to Augusta. It is almost at the end of its flowering season.
