Bull Banksia

Bull Banksia 1

We noticed this Bull Banksia (Banksia grandis) flowering in the bushland at Lake Joondalup in the northern suburbs of Perth recently. With its big greenish-yellow flower heads and deeply serrated leaves, it is easily distinguished from other common Banksia species. You’ll find Bull Banksia growing in the southwest corner of Western Australia, mostly from about Perth to Albany.
