We also saw lots of this yellow and orange pea flower growing beside the walking trail at Blackboy Ridge, Chittering Valley, about 90km north of Perth. It is called York Road Poison (Gastrolobium calycinum) because it is rich in the compound sodium fluoroacetate, which is poisonous to non-native animals and is a key ingredient in 1080.
