Dwarf Sheoak – Male

Dwarf Sheoak Male 1

Yesterday we featured the female Dwarf Sheoak with its red flowers. These photos show what its partner, the male Dwarf Sheoak, looks like. The prolific male flowers (sometimes called catkins) are a rusty orange/brown colour. Dwarf Sheoaks grow in the southwest of Western Australia from about Shark Bay to Esperance. The specimens shown here are in Perth’s Bold Park and are in flower at present.
